What’s a ‘fistbump’?
It is like a 'poke' - a quick way to get another Bro's attention without writing a message. You cannot Fistbump the same Bro twice in a row; he has to bump you back first.
Why was my photo denied?
BRO is for men looking for friends, dates, fwbs, & more - and you must have a clear face pic. We don't permit nudity, solicitation, or filters.
Where can I find my Matches? Favorites?
To find your matches, just click the Matches icon on the menu bar. To find your favorites, click the Star icon on your Local Bros tab!
How can I block or report another Bro?
To block or report another bro, open their profile and tap the block icon (the prohibitory sign). Select whether you would like to block or send a report about the Bro and then confirm the action. Be advised that you can unblock any bro from the list of blocked users under Settings. You have unlimited Blocks, but still use them wisely!
How can I link my social accounts?
To link your social accounts to your Bro profile, under EDIT PROFILE in Settings, scroll down and tap the icon of social network you would like to connect. Simply enter your username or ID from each specific social network. Confirm the action and make sure to test that each link works!
Why am I presented a BRO wait list?
The waitlist is ONLY presented if you entered that you were under 18 while setting up your profile. If this was a mistake, please contact us to resolve.
Why can't I see more daily bros?
The number of Daily Bros depends on how many Bros are near you and how many have already been shown to you. You can view up to 30 Daily Bros a day, or up to 100 with BRO Premium. If your deck runs out, widening your age range is the one filter that will show you more - distance is already widened for you automatically. Travel Mode, on both iPhone and Android with Premium, also lets you see Daily Bros in another city.
How can I delete my account?
Under Settings, tap 'Delete Account' and type "delete" to confirm. This deletes your entire account - including messages, photos, matches and favorites. Full details of what is removed are at https://www.broapp.com/delete-account. If you still need help, please e-mail delete@broapp.com.
How do I update the home city listed on my Profile?
Open Edit Profile and change your home city there. Your home city is separate from your live distance, which updates as you move. If you still need help, please e-mail help@broapp.com.
How does BRO Premium work?
BRO Premium is a subscription, and the plans differ slightly by store. On iPhone you can choose a 12-month plan or a 3-month plan that starts with a 7-day free trial. On Android you can choose a 12-month plan or a monthly plan that starts with a 7-day free trial. The current price is always shown in the app before you subscribe, and prices vary by country and are subject to change. Payment is charged to your Apple Account or your Google Play account, and the subscription renews within 24 hours before the end of the current period unless auto-renewal is turned off. To manage it or turn off auto-renewal: on iPhone go to Settings > your Apple Account > Subscriptions; on Android open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions. If you start a free trial and do not cancel before it ends, it converts to a paid subscription.
What do the checkmarks mean in messages?
A grey checkmark means your message has been sent, but the other user hasn't opened their app to receive the message yet. An orange checkmark means the user has received the message and likely notified, but has not opened it yet. "Read" means the user has opened your message (or marked "all as read" via the app itself).
What is the blue paper airplane next to the user's name?
Travel Mode lets you browse Bros in another city, and it is available on both iPhone and Android with BRO Premium. The blue airplane next to a Bro's name means he currently has Travel Mode switched on.
Why does the user's distance (mi/km) not match their listed City?
The distance listed in the user's profile is how far they are from you, while the city listed is their home city. The distance is dynamic and updates frequently, while the city remains the same unless a user changes it.
Do you have a Privacy Policy?
Yes, Please visit https://www.broapp.com/privacy for our current Privacy Policy.
Why do I need an approved photo to use Daily Bros?
Daily Bros only opens once you have a photo that has been approved. A clear face pic is approved automatically, usually within seconds - so if yours is still under review, adding a clearer one is the fastest way in. Photos are declined for no clear face, nudity, solicitation or heavy filters.
What is Ghost Mode?
Ghost Mode is a BRO Premium feature that makes you invisible while you browse - you can look without appearing in other Bros' grids or decks, and without your views being recorded. Bros you have already liked or matched with are unaffected. You can switch it on from the ghost icon in the top corner, or in Settings, and switch it off the same way at any time.
Someone liked me - how do I see who?
Open Daily Bros and tap the 'likes you' pill at the top. You will always see how many Bros have liked you. With BRO Premium you can see exactly who they are and like them straight back, which creates the match immediately.
Can I undo a swipe?
Yes - tap the rewind button under the deck to bring back the last Bro you passed on. Rewind is a BRO Premium feature. It cannot bring back a Bro you have already matched or bromanced with, since that has already been sent.
How do I stop getting notifications?
Open Settings in the app and switch off the notification types you do not want - they are listed separately, so you can keep matches and messages while turning off the rest. You can also turn BRO notifications off entirely in your phone's own settings: on iPhone under Settings > Notifications > BRO, and on Android under Settings > Apps > BRO > Notifications.
I think my account was banned by mistake. What can I do?
You can appeal from inside the app - the ban screen has an appeal option that sends your case straight to us. You can also e-mail help@broapp.com from the address on your account. Please include anything that helps us check, and we will review it and write back.
